  • Connor Badowich, MASc

Connor Badowich defended his MASc thesis in January 2019. His work investigated the optimization of magnetic resonance coupling wireless power transfer systems.

  • Masoud Ahmadi, MASc

Masoud Ahmadi defended his MASc thesis in January, 2018. His research investigated low-profile microstrip end-fire antennas based on metamaterial substrates.

  • Local STEM Fair participants visit lab

Local students from Vernon Community School participating in the STEM Fair spent time in the Applied Electromagnetics Lab discovering the magic of rotating magnetic levitation.

  • Cameron McDermid, Undergraduate Researcher of the Year

Cameron McDermid won the 2016 Undergraduate Researcher of the Year award for his work on magnetohydrodynamic actuation of microfluidic droplets. This project was completed in collaboration with Dr. Ali Ahmadi from the University of Prince Edward Island.

Welcome to the Markley Electromagnetics Research Group. With a focus on passive electromagnetic architectures and solutions, our research areas include nanophotonics, microscopy, optical sensors, metamaterials, antennas, frequency selective surfaces, and wireless power transfer.

If you are interesting in joining the group, please contact Dr. Markley with your CV and a copy of your most recent transcript and English certification (if applicable). Candidates with strong credentials will be encouraged to submit a formal application to the graduate program.
